What type of license do I need to drive a Slingshot?
The classification of the Polaris Slingshot is region-dependent. The most common classifications are motorcycle, which requires a motorcycle endorsement or license, and autocycle which only requires a drivers’ license. Refer to your local laws for more information.
Do I need to wear a helmet?
Polaris Slingshot always reccomends you wear a DOT approved full face helmet with eye protection. Check your local laws to see if your state has helmet requirements.
How fast does a Slingshot go?
Slingshot packs a punch with up to 204 horsepower on the top-of-the-line models. With less than half the weight of an average car, Slingshot can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than 5 seconds.
What type of gas does Slingshot take? What is the average gas mileage?
Slingshot recommends using only unleaded gasoline with a 91 pump octane minimum and a maximum ethanol content of 10 percent. The gas tank holds just under 10 gallons of gas, giving you on average 200-250 miles with a full tank.
